CHICAGO, IL – Fresh off its recent accolade as the 2nd Best Thanksgiving Parade in the United States by TimeOut Magazine, the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade is extending an invitation to the nation’s most talented performers. This year’s parade, taking place on November 28, 2024, from 8am to 11am CT, along State Street from Ida B. Wells to Congress in Downtown Chicago, is set to showcase an array of the nation’s best marching bands, exquisite equestrian groups, famous celebrities, fabulous floats, and diverse cultural performing groups.

Dan Mulka, Executive Director of the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade, underscores the parade’s commitment to showcasing unparalleled talent: “We’re looking for the best of the best for this year’s parade. If your performance can make smiles from ear to ear, jaws drop in awe, and have everyone in the family cheer, we want you to apply.”

Application Process and Selection Criteria

In addition to excellence and creativity, each group is required to submit a photo or video of their performance as part of their application. This will aid in the selection process, ensuring a diverse and high-caliber lineup of performances. Due to the volume of applications received, not all groups will be accepted, making early submissions crucial for consideration.

The parade is seeking applications from:

  • Marching bands with dynamic performances
  • Equestrian groups that captivate audiences
  • Celebrities and characters that enchant fans of all ages
  • Eye-catching floats that truly dazzle
  • Cultural performing groups that reflect the diverse fabric of America
  • High flying inflatable baloons that make crowds “Whoa” in excitement
  • Specialty groups that drop jaws in awe
  • Powerful musical performances worthy of Broadway
